The Need
According to 2024 Marshalls research, women surveyed define the "good stuff in life” as a combination of emotional and experiential fulfillment. This includes spending quality time with loved ones, moments of self-care, and opportunities for hobbies, passion projects, and personal and professional growth.
But for many women, the life they want can feel out of reach despite their best efforts. Only half of those we spoke to say they're satisfied with their lives, and one in three say they lack access to the resources, knowledge, and networks that would help them move forward.
That's why we created Mpowered by Marshalls. Through hands-on events that are open to everyone, bite-sized content, and expert-led programming from inspiring leaders, people can work toward the life they want. Building on that mission, the Marshalls Good Stuff Accelerator Program is open to individuals of all backgrounds, creating a space to learn, connect, and grow.
UP NEXT: Program OverviewProgram Overview
In partnership with Luminary, The Marshalls Good Stuff Accelerator Program provides a cohort of 40 participants with 12 months of programming that includes:
- Live virtual sessions with Marshalls experts and role models, in group learning format. Some of our past mentors have included Emmy Award-winning media personalities, bestselling authors, leading financial educators, acclaimed podcast hosts, and Marshalls executives.
- Peer coaching sessions (known as a Luminary Cru) offering shared accountability and support.
- A one-time $5,000 grant designed to help participants invest in the goals they’re working toward through the program.
- Full access to Luminary Collective PLUS: a membership that includes 15+ monthly virtual events, tools, networking, a members-only online community, and physical partner coworking spaces nationwide.
Please Note: You don't need to own a business to apply. While entrepreneurs are welcome, The Marshalls Good Stuff Accelerator Program is designed to invest in individuals—not businesses. It supports people from diverse backgrounds and at different stages in their personal and professional journeys, creating a shared learning experience shaped by different goals, perspectives, and experiences.
If you're a business owner, we encourage you to share what you learn with co-founders and colleagues, but program sessions and benefits are reserved for the individual selected to participate through the application process.

UP NEXT: Curriculum and Programming PathwaysCurriculum and Programming Pathways
Mpowered by Marshalls programming aims to support participants through three Pathways to Empowerment.
- Fostering Community & Connection
- Building Financial Know-How
- Embracing Confidence & Self-Worth
All participants will commit to 12 months of virtual programming that runs from January 2027 to December 2027. The curriculum includes:
- 60-minute Kick-Off Session to learn more about the program, meet fellow cohort members, and walk through expectations for the year ahead (January 2027).
- 90-minute Cru Inception Gathering to learn about the Luminary Cru program, understand the peer-to-peer coaching process, and meet each Cru Guide and fellow Cru members (March 2027).
- Six (6), 60–75-minute virtual sessions with Marshalls’ powerhouse group of experts and role models. These sessions will cover a range of topics; each aligned to the three pathways to empowerment outlined above (sessions will span the length of the program).
- Six (6), 60-minute monthly Luminary Cru peer mentorship meetings with a small community of carefully matched MGSAP participants (April–September 2027).
- A one-time $5,000 grant designed to help participants invest in the goals they’re working toward through the program.
- 60-minute Graduation session to celebrate and highlight participants’ wins and close out the year on a high-note.
- Full access to a Luminary Collective PLUS Membership, including 15+ monthly virtual events, a members-only online platform, digital content library, nationwide partner spaces, and more!
- Two (2) 60-minute Cohort Connection Office hours, which provide the opportunity to ask Luminary founder Cate Luzio questions and provide additional time with fellow MGSAP cohort members, to connect outside of Cru meetings.
Luminary Cru
A Luminary Cru is a small accountability circle of 4-5 participants and a trained Cru Guide (Luminary staff member). During monthly 60-minute Gatherings, participants support one another through peer coaching, while the Cru Guide facilitates conversation, encourages accountability, and helps keep the group on track. Together, participants will work toward personal and professional goals in a collaborative, supportive environment. Please note: Luminary Crus provide peer mentorship and accountability. They do not include one-on-one mentorship with a Cru Guide.
All MGSAP participants will be matched into a Luminary Cru primarily based on time zone and availability, while also considering shared goals, values, and diverse perspectives. They’ll have access to a digital platform to track their intentions and progress. More than a networking group, a Cru is an opportunity to learn from one another, exchange ideas, and build meaningful connections throughout the program.
Many participants from our past two cohorts described their Cru as the highlight of their MGSAP experience, with many continuing to stay connected long after the program ended. Cru Gatherings are a core part of the MGSAP journey, and we ask that all participants make every effort to attend.
Given the personal nature of the conversations in these meetings, they will not be recorded.
UP NEXT: Participant and Grant RequirementsParticipant and Grant Requirements
Participant Expectations:
The Marshalls Good Stuff Accelerator Program is designed to be an active, engaging experience. The more you put into the program, the more you'll get out of it.
If you're accepted into the program, we ask that you attend as many sessions as possible and actively engage on the Luminary platform before and after grant distribution. As part of your program experience, you'll also have access to Luminary programming that's available to all members—not just the Marshalls cohort. While participation in those broader Luminary offerings isn't required to remain eligible for your grant, we've found that participants who get the most out of the experience are those who take advantage of those opportunities, make connections outside of sessions, and stay active on the platform.
To remain eligible for your $5,000 grant, participants must meet the following engagement requirements before grant distribution:
- Attend at least 60% of Marshalls Sessions (3 of the first 5 sessions).
- Attend at least 66% of Luminary Cru Gatherings (2 of the first 3 Gatherings).
Office Hours are optional and are not included in attendance requirements.
Pending eligibility, grants will be distributed midway through the program year (summer 2027).
To make the program as accessible as possible, we'll vary session times throughout the year to accommodate different schedules and time zones. However, most Marshalls Good Stuff Accelerator Program sessions will take place during standard business hours on weekdays, so we encourage participants to plan accordingly before applying.
If something comes up:
We get it—sometimes life happens!
If you need to miss a session, we ask that you communicate with us and let us know as far in advance as possible so we can support you and help you stay on track.
For most sessions, Luminary will share recordings and materials afterward. Please note that Luminary Cru meetings and Cohort Connect Office Hours are live-only, and recordings are not available.
Tax Responsibility:
As outlined in the Official Rules, participants are responsible for paying any applicable taxes on the full retail value of the Grand Prize.
The $5,000 grant is included in the total retail value of the Grand Prize, which also includes the program itself and all other relevant benefits. The total estimated retail value of the Grand Prize (meaning the program as a whole) is $8,588.
Participants will receive a 1099-MISC during the 2027 tax season for the total retail value of the Grand Prize and will be responsible for any resulting federal or state taxes.
Because tax obligations vary based on factors such as income, marital status, and state of residence, we recommend consulting a tax professional with any questions about individual tax circumstances.
UP NEXT: EligibilityEligibility
People in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico are invited to apply, with all programming held virtually over the course of 2027.
